This canvas print was a beautiful capture of three Gentoo Penguins in Antartica. They waddle along in groups on this Rocky Beach, looking as though they don't have a care in the world. What you don't know is that penguins eat fish, that they catch in the water. In the water they can swim fast and reduce the danger from seals and fur seals, who eat penguins. On land, when the seals are resting during the day, the seals can't move very easily. They are slow, having to use their flippers to haul their weight around. It is amusing to see the penguins and the seals during the rest period. The Penguins walk past the seals on the rocks, keeping their distance, they look a little nervous and pretend they don't see the seals. The seals look at the penguins as lunch, but they know they can't move fast enough, so their eye just follow the penguins. Just another day in Antarctica!
You can put a set of two or three together which look great on the wall.
Each original photo is printed onto canvas, varnished with UV Protection, and then stretched around a wooden stretcher bar. Each step in the process is performed by Shirley herself, from the original photography, editing, right down to packaging each canvas print for shipping.
